I started this business because I have a genuine desire to help others become their best selves. I grew up watching Miss America and Miss South Dakota since I was a little girl. I was always astonished by the changes the outgoing title holder would make each year. They weren’t just external changes, but internal changes that showed how her grace, intellect, and confidence had grown throughout her year. I knew, even then, that I wanted to experience that kind of growth one day. After years of hard work, I had the honor of serving as both Miss South Dakota’s Outstanding Teen and Miss South Dakota. It was everything I dreamed it would be as a child and so much more. I competed for five years to earn the title of Miss SD and each time I came back stronger, more confident, and sure of who I was deep down to my core. I truly believe that anyone can gain invaluable experiences through the Miss America Organization competitions and pageants in general. I also believe that while you ABSOLUTELY can do it on your own, having a coach by your side who is knowledgeable is always in your best interest. Througout my five years competing I built my own dream team to help me along the way, and I am so grateful for them even to this day. This leads me to my why - every person deserves to step into their own light and define their success. Every person deserves to be in control of their confidence and share their gifts with the world. Growing up, she was a member of every club, starred in the school musical, sang in the choir, and played sports throughout the year. Because of the opportunities afforded to her in childhood, Miranda wasn’t afraid to step out of her comfort zone in college, which led her to the Miss America Opportunity. Miranda competed on the Miss South Dakota stage five times before ultimately serving as Miss South Dakota 2023. Alongside being a state titleholder, Miranda earned placements in the top 5 and preliminary awards for Social Impact Pitch/On Stage Question and more than 25k in scholarships. Miranda now serves as a local director, running the Miss Hot Springs competition. Graduating with bachelor's degrees in journalism and history in 2020, Miranda’s career is as a journalist. She has held the position of multimedia journalist, weekend anchor, morning anchor, and evening anchor. She is currently studying for a master’s in journalism degree through Harvard. Miranda is also a podcast host and in-game emcee for the semi-professional hockey team, Rapid City Rush. Outside of working hours, Miranda is an avid reader, amateur baker, movie enthusiast, and fur-baby mom to Jericho and Millie. Miranda began competing to satisfy her competitive side but quickly learned the immense value of competing in the Miss America Opportunity. Kaitlin has held many jobs in the marketing world where she learned a great deal about social media, branding, design, and so much more. During her year as Miss South Dakota, she dedicated a great deal of her time to improving the organization's image, brand consistency, and authenticity.
